It all started on or about March 10, 2010 with an advertisement in our local newspaper, “Volunteers needed to save local historical train depot”. About 12 locals subsequently met to see if they could keep the depot from going under the bulldozer blade. Five years later, with a limited budget, a small handful of hard working volunteers have saved one of the most historical buildings in Hebron, Maryland. Now, the building’s exterior is secure, termite free, and has a new coat of paint, a new roof and a new chimney. Some work has been done on the interior with much, much more to be done. Our dream is to restore the depot to it’s former glory and eventually open a museum showcasing the history of the town and the railroad’s effect on the area. We still have very little money but we have lots of passion for our project. We are “The Little Engine that Could”. Stop by for a visit – we would love to show you around.

How do we work?

We are a registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization here to serve the Hebron Community. Our team does not receive a paycheck. All donations made are used to refurbish The historical train depot facilities train upkeep. Please consider making a donation and help us save this important land mark!

To make a lasting impact, we know that we must actively engage and include the communities we are seeking to help. We are continually learning and growing in how we show up as an authentic, ethical partner.
